Coleman 2-Person Pop-Up Tent

Coleman 2-Person Pop-Up Tent
OUR RATING

Starting us off is a pop-up tent by Coleman. When it comes to trusted brands for the outdoors, Coleman is at the top of that list. As you can tell by the name, this is a pop-up tent that takes relatively no time to set up!

Gone are the days fussing around with complicated instructions and poles that are just too frustrating to work with. The tent itself is fire and water resistant, along with the polyester fly that keeps out the rain.

This is a great option for people looking for a tent that is lightweight, portable and that can be set up in 10 seconds or less. There are poles in this tent, but they are pre assembled and pop into place without you having to do anything.

The floor has taped seams that will keep you dry no matter how wet the ground is outside. This can come in handy if you’re using this tent in the snow, or in an area where it rains a lot. The rainfly can be put into multiple positions, which can help keep out the sun and bring in more air, keeping the inside of the tent cool and breathable.

This tent is 7 ½ feet by 4 ½ feet and the height in the center is just under 3 feet. There are windows across the ceiling that are perfect for stargazing, while keeping out pesky mosquitoes.

Key Features:

  • Sets up in less than 10 seconds
  • Has a rainfly
  • Waterproof flooring
  • Fire resistant material
  • Several windows

Pros

  • Easy to set up
  • Relatively inexpensive
  • Water and fire resistant
  • Adjustable rainfly

Cons

  • Not the best tent for people taller than 6 foot
Wakeman Outdoors 2-Person Tent
OUR RATING

The second, and last tent on this list comes in two different colors: red and blue. It is made out of water resistant material that keeps you and all of your belongings dry while you’re camping.

This Wakeman Outdoors 2-person tent is spacious and lightweight.

It’s designed with a dome style and a big D-shaped door that makes it easy to get in and out of the tent. The dome aspect gives you a bit more headroom than you’d find in other tents. The poles are made out of fiberglass and will last through just about any weather.

There are windows around the tent that bring in great ventilation, while still providing plenty of privacy. The tent itself is around 7 feet by 6 feet with a center height of about 4 feet. The walls and floor are made of polyester and have a PU coating.

This tent can be set up in just a few minutes and comes with a detachable rainfly. The rainfly allows you to stay dry in rain, or it brings shade during days were the sun is beating down. There is an electrical cord hole near the door of the tent that is great if you’re needing any electricity.

This hole doesn’t allow bugs to get in, and there are pockets for your person items throughout the tent. It’s hard to find a tent as good as this one for the price!

Key Features:

  • Several windows
  • Detachable rainfly
  • Electrical cord access
  • Pockets for storage
  • Extra space in the center
  • D-shaped door
  • PU coated material

Pros

  • Inexpensive
  • Easy to set up
  • Water resistant
  • Available in multiple colors

Buyer’s Guide: What to Look For in a 2 Person Tent

When you’re buying a new tent, there are a lot of things that need to be considered. Whether you’re looking for specific features, or just a tent that’s easy to set up, it’s important to know what you’re getting before you spend any of your hard earned money.

Below we’ve included a handful of features to look for in a tent that makes it a great buy!

Space

Space

You may think that all 2-person tents are the same size, but they actually come in a variety of different sizes. As you’ve seen in the two tents reviewed above, there are several size options within 2-person tents.

One thing you may want to be conscious of is the length of a tent. If you’re a taller individual, you may want to look for a tent that has a bit more floor space so that you can sleep and relax comfortably.

Lastly, when it comes to size, you may want to make sure the tent can be folded up into a relatively small size. You don’t want your tent taking up a ton of room, especially if you’re backpacking or hiking.

Storage

Another great feature that some tents have is storage! These are generally pockets near the floor of the tent that can hold things like your phone, wallet, keys or bug spray. Some tents will also have hooks throughout the interior that you can use to hang clothing.

You can also find tents that have a rack-like storage feature that is on the ceiling of tents. This is often used to hold bulkier items, or keep flashlights in place to keep the inside of the tent bright.

Set Up

No one wants to get stressed out and frustrated by setting their tent up. If you don’t want to read confusing instructions and waste daylight setting up your tent, look for one that will pop-up or that reads “easy assembly” on the packaging.

There are several tents on the market that can be set up in as little as just 10 seconds, while others may take you 5 minutes to half an hour.

Windows

One of the last features you may want to keep your eyes peeled for is windows. Windows are important for several reasons. Having several windows throughout a tent will keep it well ventilated and the temperature will stay cooler within the tent.

Windows also allow you to see your surroundings while still giving you the option of privacy. They keep the bugs out without making you feel closed in!

Final Words

Having a 2-person tent is great for things like hiking, backpacking, a weekend getaway or even just setting it up for the kids in your yard. Camping is one of life's simple pleasures and you want to make sure you have a great tent to make the experience even better. Hopefully this helped you find a tent that will work perfectly for you!
